Dominican Republic, 2012

In March 2012, a GlobalFire volunteer asked to include a GlobalFire supply mission during his vacation to Puerta Plata in the Dominican Republic.  This is just another excellent example of the dedication and compassion GlobalFire members demonstrate during their personal time.

Through GlobalFire, Florian Fire & Rescue Training Solutions INC donated brand new fire fighting instructional textbooks (IFSTA 4th edition), fire fighting instructional workbooks, and a CD-ROM to assist the Puerta Plata fire department with the training of its personnel.  These materials will end-up having a disproportionally positive impact on the quality of training and the level of safety of the firefighters in the city of Puerta Plata.  Our GlobalFire volunteer also provided fire department T-shirts and patches, as well as toothbrushes to the department.

As the smallest operation conducted by GlobalFire, this mission stands as an excellent example of how firefighters from developed countries can help firefighters in the developing world if they remain determined to do so.
